PMS can consist of both physical and psychological symptoms, including lower back

pain, abdominal bloating, breast tenderness, mood swings, tension, irritability,

depression, change in eating habits, variations in sex drive, and cognitive impairment.

Several studies have shown that chiropractic care can ease or eliminate most if not

all of these symptoms. One 1992 study reported improvements of 44 to 70% in

psychological factors, while other case studies show complete reversal of physical

difficulties caused by PMS.

An Australian study of 54 women with PMS revealed that PMS sufferers were far more likely to have spinal dysfunction than a control group. This is interesting because although this study only identifies a correlation between spinal dysfunction and PMS, it suggest something more, as the direct connection between these two problems is not readily apparent.

Given that chiropractic addresses spinal dysfunction and subsequent nervous system dysfunction due to subluxation, it’s not surprising that PMS sufferers get relief with corrective chiropractic care since it helps improve whole-body function.

If PMS is a concern of yours or someone you love, get a chiropractic exam today!
